My first Tiggy! 5th scale built from the Practical scale Kit.
I bought this of a fellow club member; it was in a fairly bad state,
So I made the decision to strip and re cover it.
It was only after pulling the old covering off that I found a mouse had
Made a home in the tail end! Using the stringers and cross braces for its bedding.
The model is well over 25 years old and is still going strong.
I am currently using it as a test bed to run in my Laser 150 for my ¼ scale Moth.
The ARC Cardinal with OS91 4stroke even had landing /nav lights and strobe.
Came to an untimely end at the defunct RAF Binbrook ending up in a cabbage field
Crystal failure!. Still got the fuselage you never know one day it may rise again.
Betty Bipe was a big biplane for her day (late 80s).
She was a Sabre-Tooth Tiger designed and built by Alec Barber and the plans are still available on the Traplet site I bought a 35cc Quadra engine of him (he is a fellow club member) and attached to the back of the engine was the airframe!.
I striped her down and re covered her and named her Betty, changed the engine to a Zenoah 45.she was a beautiful plane and flew well until she met her end in a large gust of wind on takeoff, at Binbrook airfield.
The Seagull Plasma one of the best ARTF planes I have ever owned!!!
I rate Seagull models very highly good build quality and nice planes,
The plasma had an OS 52 four stroke and at times a 4 bladed prop she looked a bit Mustangish
And flew like a dream, so well that when I killed it doing low inverted passes at speed, I went and bought another.
For some reason Seagull stopped making them, all I know is if they brought them out again I wouldn’t hesitate in getting a new one.
Another Seagull model this time the PC9, as with the Plasma a lovely model this one has a Merco 61
Up front and flies like it’s on rails.
I did have a little trouble getting the Merco to run well but now its set up its fine.
I have been flying it all this year and has become one of my regular hacks I am never at the field without it.
A new acquisition, the Hobby King RAD-JET, excellent value for around £50 all in, Cant go wrong
needless to say, there are a few up at the patch now.
The Hummer.
Boy have I had fun with this all year!
£ 50 all in and loads off fun.
Twinstar.
I have had this donkeys years running on a 3s LYPO and the original Can motors,
they haven't burnt out yet !
2 new foamy gliders from Hobby King.
BFG 1600 and BFG 2600
the 1600 is a really good flyer and is a good entry into powered gliding.
The 2600 will be test flown this next year, should be good if its little sister is anything to go by.
This Ripmax Harmony I have had a few years now but still haven't flown it, my buddy Steve is working on a twin synchronizing glow unit !!!!!.
I will explain all when its finished and tested.
